(Mustang, Oklahoma – April 26, 2021) – During a virtual celebration last week, Mustang Public Schools was recognized as the United Way 2020 Corporate Spirit Award winner. The celebration also announced annual fundraising efforts and recognized two individuals for their service.
The campaign raised $193,316 to be invested on behalf of donors to help meet the community's health and human service needs. "From donors to board members to our community as a whole, we extend our sincerest gratitude" said Jan Foreman, United Way of Canadian County advisory board president. "We are humbled to have surpassed our campaign goal during a challenging year, and we are thankful for the strong support of our donors who are helping us to ensure that our partner agencies can continue to serve Canadian County residents in need."
The celebration honored two individuals and one organization for their contributions to the United Way of Canadian County. Mustang Public Schools received the 2020 Corporate Spirit award, Melissa Ellison from BancFirst in El Reno received the 2020 Employee Campaign Coordinator of the Year award, and Richard Steanson received the 2020 Volunteer of the Year award. Steanson was also recognized for his efforts as the 2020 campaign chair. “I am proud of our District,” MPS Superintendent Charles Bradley said. “We have a very generous staff, and I am proud to accept this award on their behalf.”
United Way of Canadian County allocates donor dollars into the community through 16 partner agencies.
