"Making connections: Collage involves combining seemingly unrelated materials into a whole"

In Ms. Harrison's Interior Design Class, students embark on a creative journey that blends art with functionality. They learn to conceptualize and design spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical, exploring elements like color theory, furniture arrangement, and lighting. Through hands-on projects and real-world applications, students develop skills in drafting, space planning, and material selection. The class fosters an appreciation for how thoughtful design can enhance living environments and encourages students to express their personal style while considering the needs and preferences of others.

We are excited to see what Ms. Harrison's class continues to create this school year!

Avrey Frings working in STEM Lab during YES OK Summer STEM Program.

🌟✨ #StudentSpotlight: Avrey Frings ✨🌟

Meet Avrey Frings, a Senior at Mustang High School who spent her summer making significant strides in STEM! Avrey participated in the YES OK program at the University of Oklahoma, funded by the National Institute of Health, which aims to increase Native American involvement in healthcare communities and research. Using methods for ancient DNA samples, she extracted and visualized modern DNA from the nematode gut microbiome, honing her lab skills.

In the latter half of the summer, Avrey independently created a poster on DNA Quantification and Visualization Techniques and wrote a paper on how cancer affects children more than adults. She presented her findings to classmates and research professors.

After graduation, Avrey aspires to work as a Pediatric Oncologist with the Cherokee Nation. We are incredibly proud of Avrey’s dedication and accomplishments!
