MPS Celebrates Groundbreaking of Elementary #9

Representatives from Mustang Public Schools, A+ Architects and CADE Construction break ground on the newest MPS Elementary Sc

(Mustang, Oklahoma – March 6, 2024) – Mustang Public Schools marked a significant milestone today with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Elementary #9, made possible through the generous support of the Momentum23 Bond voters. The event, held at the school's future site, SW 44th and Sara Rd, was attended by students, community members, and school officials and reflects the community's commitment to enhancing educational facilities and opportunities for its students.

MPS students Elizabeth Barrick, Kyndal Honeman, Iris Wiggins, and Cannon Eidson were actively involved in the ceremony, symbolizing the new school's bright future. Their participation also underscores the district's focus on student engagement and the pivotal role education plays in shaping future generations.

Superintendent Charles Bradley expressed his excitement for the project, stating, "This groundbreaking is not just about the construction of a new building; it's about laying the foundation for our students' future success. We are incredibly excited to see this project come to life, thanks to the support of our community and the Momentum23 Bond voters. Elementary #9 will be a place where our students can grow in a learning environment that will inspire and empower them to reach their full potential."

School Board President Todd Lovelace conveyed his gratitude to everyone involved in making this project a reality. "I want to thank our community, staff, and supporters for their dedication and commitment to advancing education in Mustang. This groundbreaking is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together."

School Board Vice President Chad Schroeder shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming school opening and the opportunities it will bring for students. "Today's groundbreaking represents the culmination of hard work, dedication, and community support. We are profoundly thankful to each person who has played a role in making this dream a reality. This new school is a testament to our shared commitment to providing the best possible educational environment for our children."

School Board Clerk Travis Helling added, "Seeing our community come together in support of this project fills me with immense pride. This new elementary school symbolizes our collective belief in the power of education and our dedication to the future of our children. It's a reflection of our commitment to not just meeting but exceeding the educational needs of our community."

The groundbreaking ceremony was a momentous occasion that signifies the beginning of a new chapter for Mustang Public Schools. As Mustang Public Schools moves forward with this exciting project, the district remains focused on its mission to provide a top-tier education for all students, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.  Elementary #9 is expected to open for the 2025-26 school year.
