Congratulations to MHS sophomore Avrey Frings on acceptance to the 2023 YES Oklahoma program! YES (Youth Enjoy Science) OK is an NIH National Cancer Institute funded project through OU's Department of Anthropology. The project offers an 8-week summer STEM experience for Native American high school students interested in healthcare careers. YES OK scholars will live on the OU Norman campus, earn concurrent enrollment credit, and gain hands-on lab experience in state-of-the-art laboratories.  Avrey will be partnered with mentors doing hands on research at the Stevenson Cancer Research Center!

Avrey is interested in a career in pediatric oncology or forensic science, and we are so proud of her for all of the hard work she is doing to chase her goals! Congratulations on being a YES OK scholar, Avrey! #BroncoPride
