What a showing by the Mustang High School Mock Trial team in Monday’s Oklahoma Mock Trial Competition qualifiers. Competing in real courtrooms across the state, our students prevailed on 3 of 4 ballots with a total score of 406, a major leap forward from last year’s results.

Our Defense team split the ballot, and our Plaintiff team prevailed outright, reflecting the depth of preparation and teamwork across the entire program. Snow and ice did not slow them down either. Students logged countless hours through virtual meetings, Saturdays on campus, and practice sessions in court to be ready for competition day.

A special thank you to Judge Charles Gass for generously volunteering his time, coaching the team, and opening his courtroom for practices. His mentorship made a meaningful impact on our students’ growth and confidence.

Congratulations to our award winners from Monday’s competition:
• Best Defense Witness Natalie Nunez as Drew Emmanuel
• Best Defense Attorney Gabriel Jackson
• Best Prosecution Witness Micah Murray as Pat “Smokes” McAffrey
• Best Prosecution Attorney Alyssa Townsend

This is only the program’s second year, and the progress is undeniable. We are proud of our student attorneys, witnesses, coaches, and the teachers who support them every day. We look forward to hearing whether the team advances to the next round.
