Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence in Mustang Public Schools
Mustang Public Schools is committed to the responsible, transparent, and secure use of artificial intelligence (AI) in support of teaching and learning. AI tools are used to enhance educator-directed instruction and improve educational experiences while maintaining appropriate human oversight. AI is never used as the sole basis for grading, student discipline, placement, promotion, retention, or other high-stakes educational decisions.
Teacher Oversight
Artificial intelligence tools used by Mustang Public Schools supplement educator instruction and do not replace the professional judgment of teachers. District employees review AI-generated content before it is used for instruction, feedback, assessment, or educational decision-making.
Annual & Ongoing Review
The district annually reviews AI tools used in our schools and provides information regarding their educational purpose, data privacy practices, and student protections. Parents and guardians may review the current list of approved AI tools below.
| AI Tool | Vendor | Educational Purpose | Student Data Collected | Data Shared With Vendor | Student Facing? |

| Lexia Core5 | Lexia Learning | Reading intervention | Student ID, progress data, assessment results | Shared under district agreement | Yes |
Families also have the right to opt their student out of participating in student-facing AI tools as provided by Oklahoma law. For more information, please email MERCcontact@mustangps.org.
