Individuals with Disabilities Act

Special Education is defined as special services provided by special and general education personnel to meet the individualized needs of students with documented disabilities.

Child Find is a public awareness activity to identify, locate, evaluate and educate children ages 3 through 21 years of age who are suspected of having disabilities and may be in need of special education and related services defined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). 

To be eligible for special education services, the student must be between the ages of 3 and 21. The student must have documentation of one or more of the disabilities. Also, the student must have an educational need that requires special education supports and services. A child with a disability means a child has been evaluated and determined eligible for special education and related services in accordance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Contact the Student Services Center at 405-376-7335 to provide your child's information and obtain the necessary modified enrollment instructions.

Information Needed - Child's name, Date Of Birth, any outside evaluations within the current year.

Enrollment - Complete enrollment using the necessary modified instructions.

Assessment - Once enrollment is completed and approved through central enrollment, you will receive a call to schedule the assessment within a reasonable amount of time.

Eligibility Determination - Based on the assessment results, an eligibility determination meeting will be scheduled.
