Proficiency Based Promotion

Proficiency-Based Promotion (PBP) provides an opportunity to award credit for your students’ knowledge in the core curriculum areas, including English language arts, math, science, social studies and foreign languages, through an assessment process that includes end-of-year exams.  These exams are available to students in grades 1-12 through an application process. Students demonstrate their proficiency by scoring an 85% or higher on each exam.

In accordance with state law, the opportunity for proficiency-based testing is scheduled twice a year- once before the beginning of the school term and once at the end of the school term. Doing so ensures that Mustang Public Schools can make appropriate decisions regarding the advancement and placement of students who choose to take advantage of this option.
