Meredith Henderson

Welcome to Third Grade!

Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Meredith Henderson and I will be your student’s teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. This is my twelfth year to teach and my nineth year to teach in Mustang. I have a Master’s Degree in Education. My husband and I have 2 sons; a 9 year old and a 6 year old and we could not think of a better place to raise them. I am excited to have your student in my class.  Let’s make it a great year!

Learning can be difficult with grumbling bellies, therefore students are welcome to bring a small snack to eat in class!  Please make sure the snack can easily be eaten. Avoid complicated snacks that involve dipping, stirring or the need for utensils. These snacks make it difficult for your child work while she/he are eating. Candy will not be allowed as a snack. Due to COVID 19 precautions, I will not be able to pass out snacks to students who forget theirs!
Drinks are allowed in class, however it must be water only. Because our water fountains will be shut off for COVID 19 precautions, it is imperative that students bring water to stay hydrated. When selecting an appropriate water bottle for class, please make sure that the contents don't spill easily. Screw on lids with straws help minimize spills when they occur.
Birthdays will be celebrate on the first day of the month. District policy states that parents are not allowed to attend these celebrations. However, parents are welcome to drop off a snack to the front office and they will be delivered to the classroom. Please make sure to drop your child’s snack off in the morning hours, as we will use those treats as a class snack in the morning.  Because several birthdays may fall in the same month, please send me a message and let me know what you’re planning on bringing as the birthday snack. This will help prevent getting duplicate snacks! This year, we will only be allowing pre-packaged snacks (e.g. Goldfish Crackers, Little Debbie Cakes, Teddy Grahams, etc). I will not be allowing store bought cupcakes or cookies. Snacks must be pre-packaged only. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to contact me directly!
