Hi my name is Kristen Polson, and I'm the art teacher at Mustang Elementary! It is my goal to provide a positive creative outlet for our kids, and I believe the art room is a great place for experimentation, collaboration, and problem solving. Art teaches us to search for beauty, celebrate culture, and face our fears.
After graduating with a fine arts degree, I began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator, and I did that for 11 years. After having children of my own and becoming a foster parent, I decided my passion was working with kids, and I sought out credentials to become an art teacher in 2013. It has become my passion. I love seeing my students light up when they do something they didn't think they could!
I have tried to take that love of art into our community by founding the Mustang Arts Council in 2018. We have been able to partner with the city and local businesses to provide more arts opportunities to our town through classes, community art shows, and public art.   My family of seven lives in Mustang with our dog, two cats, and a frog.
I'm looking forward to a great year! Feel free to contact me at [email protected].
