Deanna Baxter

Hello MHIS Broncos!

My name is Deanna Baxter. I am so happy to be teaching 6th grade science at Horizon again this year! Science classrooms have always been where I felt the most excited and I hope to pass that on to your students. I also teach a few life app sections of robotics and serve as one of the coaches for our MHIS competitive robotics teams.

My husband and I have four daughters (and one grandgirl) who always kept me busy and involved in education system. I spent 22 years as a volunteer, sub, coach, and troop leader while they were young. Once they were all in school, I was able to finish my education. I graduated from UCO in 2011 and began my career as a 5th grade science teacher for six years before moving to 6th grade science.

While the past year and a half was a challenge for most, I am looking forward to what this year has in store for us. It is my hope that your students find a love for learning and the confidence that they can do what they set their mind to. Thank you for sharing them with me.
