Welcome to 6th grade ELA! I am looking forward to a great year having your child in my classroom. This will be my thirteenth-year teaching 6th grade English Language Arts. I graduated from University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and I am additionally certified to teach Middle Level ELA for grades 6-8. Teaching 6th graders to love reading and writing is the best job in the world. I enjoy exploring different literature and helping students discover their own love of reading.

Outside of the classroom, my husband and I are raising two future Mustang Bronco students. Our son, Easton, is a first grade student who loves playing tee ball, drawing, and being a big brother. Our daughter, Emri, will be turning one in October. We love playing outside, reading new books from the library, and spending time with friends and family.

Inside the classroom, I have very high expectations for every one of my students. I believe in a growth mindset, so there is room to grow and improve in all aspects of life. I will challenge each of my students and support them as they try new things, explore their 6th grade world, and work on achieving all their goals. I am so excited to get to know each and every one of my kiddos and their families. Please feel free to contact me at any time! E-mail and text are the best ways to reach me.
