WRITE SHOW AND TELL
Your child may bring
show and tell BUT HE/SHE
must write about it and illustrate it at home.
Do reading homework EVERY night!
Be sure to study Spelling. It makes
your child happy during test time!
My class will split between Ms.
Hodge and Ms. Gomez for special classes.
Special classes alternate PE, Music, and Art. Your child should be prepared to wear the
correct clothing to PE!
If you have old children’s magazines
at home, we could use them for some writing activities! (Ranger Rick, My Big Backyard,

Reading
Homework
It
is IMPERATIVE for a successful first grade year that your child reads EVERY
night. They need to return their
completed homework each morning. I
will select books for your child appropriate for their individual needs.
He/She will also help me make selections.
We’ll begin with 1-2 books. You are welcome to read selections
from home in addition to what I send home BUT your child must be
able to read it to
you if you plan to list it on the reading log. Please read TO your child also. They will bring home books from the
library that are attractive to them but may not be on their reading
level. Read these to your child and
share the excitement of a new book with them.
|
If you want to donate anything to our classroom, here are
some items we need: Playground balls,
jump ropes, antibacterial wipes, cheap/thin paper plates, playdough, google
eyes (any size), Silly Putty, white lunch sacks, brown lunch sacks, and treat
basket items (fun pencils, bouncy balls, erasers….). THANKS!!
