paper word train to post on the wall.
Add a new car to the train for every picture’s sound, sight word,
etc. that is learned.

Play “Bingo”. Use sight words, letters or pictures to
reinforce letter recognition and letter/sound relationship.

Teach your child
responsibility and following directions.
Give him one or two jobs around the house. Tell him what is expected, how often and
when you want it done. Also, explain
the consequences
if it is not done.
Don’t remind more than once.
Be sure to follow through if task isn’t completed.

Print capital letters
on 26 index cards and lower case letters 26 more. Scramble the cards. Name each letter.
Variations: Match capital to lower case.
Play “Memory”: a match
is capital to lower case. Play “Old Maid or “Fish” matching capital and
lower case letters.

Find
letters of the alphabet around the kitchen on soup cans, cereal boxes,
etc. Don’t limit your search to the
kitchen. Look around the house,
grocery store or while driving around town.
