About Sergeant First Class Brown

 

Sergeant First Class Aaron W. Brown serves as the Army Instructor for the well established Mustang High School Junior ROTC program.  He retired from the U.S. Army in May 2008 while assigned as the First Sergeant of Item Company, Military Transition Teams (MiTT), 1 Bn-16 Infantry Reg., Fort Riley, Kansas.

 

SFC Brown’s other assignments during his Army career include Assistant Operations NCO, 2 Bn-70 Armor Regiment, Fort Riley Kansas; Senior Platoon Sergeant, 1st Replacement Company, Fort Riley, Kansas; Platoon Sergeant, D Company, 1 Bn-503 Infantry Regiment, Camp Casey, South Korea; Observer/Controller Trainer, B Company, 1 Bn-306 Infantry Regiment, Fort  Stewart, Georgia;  Platoon Sergeant, D Company, 1 Bn-16 Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, Kansas;  Squad Leader, 1 Bn-9 Infantry Regiment, Camp Hovey, South Korea;  Squad Leader, 1 Bn-8 Infantry Regiment, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Weapons Specialist, Charlie Company, 6 Bn-6 Infantry Regiment, Bamberg, Germany. 

 

A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1988.  Following graduation SFC Brown enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1988. 

 

During his enlisted service, he returned to college earning an Associate Degree from Central Texas College in August 2003.

 

SFC Brown is a graduate of the Infantry Non-Commissioned Officer Advanced Course, Infantry Non-Commissioned Officer Basic Course, Primary Leadership Development Course.   SFC Brown also is a graduate of the U.S. Army Air Assault School, U.S. Army Airborne School,  and U.S. Air Force Airlift Planner Course.

 

SFC Brown has been awarded the Army Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Medal, National Defense Service Medal with device, Korean Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Airborne Badge, and Air Assault.

 

His hobbies include golf, fishing, and going to the beach.

 

He and his wife, Rhonda, daughter, Chelsea, 19, and a son, Dylan, 16, reside in Yukon, Oklahoma.
