Personal Clothing Management (Semester 1, Hours 2 & 4)

Grading is 50% Daily Points, 50% Tests.  Sewing projects:  Pajama pants are first, then students will choose from a list I provide.  They must do 2-4 projects until they complete 10 different sewing techniques.  Each technique must be completed to an acceptable level, then is given 100% credit.  Even if you’ve never sewn, you can make an A. 20  daily points are given for having supplies in class, working all hour, and cleaning up. All equipment is provided, but students  must purchase project supplies.  SUPPLIES FOR PJ PANTS ARE DUE OCT. 12 for a grade:  3 and ½ yds. of cotton or cotton blend WOVEN fabric (no knits or plaid), 1 spool of matching thread, elastic and/or ribbon.  If there is a financial issue, please e-mail me for assistance.

Parenting/Child Development (Semester 1, Hours 3, 5, 6 Sem. 2 Hours 5 &6)

Grading is 50% Daily Points, 50% Tests.  Most work is done in class with occasional homework.  Reviews for tests are homework and are assigned the day before the test.  They are due the day of the test and will not be accepted late.

Electronic Baby Project will be done after Chapter 9 is complete (about ½ way through the semester).  Parent Info Sheets will be sent home prior to project.  Baby is checked out after school and returned by 8:25 the next morning.  This is a required project.  Students get to choose the day they want the baby.

Marriage & Family (Semester 2, Hours 2,3,4 for grades 11 & 12 only)

Grading is 50% Daily Points, 50% Tests.  There is no textbook.  We will use the Connect/Prep Marriage Prep Workbook, handouts, notes, internet, speakers & other sources.  Much work is done in class.  We will complete a class notebook and a wedding notebook.  STUDENTS NEED 2 FOLDERS.  The last section of the semester is money management.
