Welcome to
First Grade at
Students
in first grade are asked to read for 20 minutes every day. Other homework, such as Math Facts or Sight
Word Practice, is at the discretion of each teacher.
Spelling Lists will come home on Monday. Tests will be each Friday or the last day of the week. Spelling Tests begin the sixth week of school and Dictation Tests begin in January.
Students
are required, district wide, to know 25 Sight Words
each nine weeks. Students will be tested at the end of each nine weeks.
Math Facts are learned in
sets and tests will begin in October. At the beginning of each set your child
will bring home flash cards to practice with and a final test date.
