About Me

I am originally from Mustang and am an alumn of both Mustang North Middle School and Mustang High School. After graduating with my B.A. in English from UCO, I moved to New Mexico. While in New Mexico, I received my M.A. in secondary education from the University of New Mexico. I taught at Eisenhower Middle School in Albuquerque where I met my husband. I have taught 8^th grade Gifted Language Arts & Literature as well as Drama and Speech & Debate.

Projects

Honors Drama (8^th)	Drama I (7^th)	Communications (6^th)
We are currently reading a “lighter” version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and their next project will involve the students rewriting Hamlet in groups and (hopefully) performing in front of a live audience!	In Drama, we are working on pantomime, which has the students focusing on facial expression and body language. Their “unit test” for pantomime is a 1 ½ - 3 minute solo pantomime performance. Music videos are next!	My 6^th grade students are currently writing and performing a Pro/Con speech that needs to be 2-3 minutes in length. Clever topics are encouraged! Also, every Friday, several students will be performing their Children’s Book Read- Aloud to the class.
