THE WATCHMEN author: Alan Moore copyright 1987 Book Review by: Aaron Miller
In this epic graphic novel, the story takes place in an alternate 1985 where super-heroes exist and Richard M. Nixon is on his third term (yeah, right). A group of vigilantes called the Watchmen, used to protect New York City, but only one group is still active. Rorschach, a vigilante, investigates the death of a fellow Watchman because he believes that there is a conspiracy against the Watchmen, and someone is hunting masks. Still not enough for ya? While all this is happening, the United States is on the brink of a Nuclear Holocaust. As the Doomsday clock counts down, time is running out, and you'll never see the ending coming!
