                                 THE LAST MISSION

By: Harry Mazer

1979

The year is 1944 and Jack Raab is a 15 year old Jewish kid who dreams of helping his family who are being driven from their homes in Nazi occupied Poland. His mission is to destroy Hitler, and become a hero back home. But Jack is too young to join the military so he assumes his brother Irv’s identity and enlists in the Air Force.

Jack becomes a waist gunner in a B-17 and on one of his last missions he is shot down over enemy territory. Will the Germans capture him or will he go to a concentration camp? Will he ever see his family, girlfriend, or his country again? What will happen?
