Career Exploration
with a Media Emphasis
Students will study the many careers
in the spectrum of today’s media world. First students will
refresh basic computer skills.
Students will research the history and advancement of technology
and the impact of the many inventions leading up to the current world
we live in. Students will learn and master Microsoft Movie Maker as
most reports will be completed in digital media format. Students will
have access to software programs such as Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate,
Adobe CS4 Photoshop, CS4 Premiere, Adobe CS4 After Affects, Song Vegas
Pro 8 and Apples I-Movie. Students will have access to the Media
Centers limited use Dell computer. Other projects include “Who am
I” a video autobiography, an advertisement for a school club or
organization, help produce slide announcements for Bronco TV, “My
Favorite Director”, “My Favorite Actor/Actress”, and
“My Favorite Media Career”.
THIS CLASS WILL REQUIRE
EXTRA TIME TO COMPLETE MOST PROJECTS. Video Cameras will be available with
some limitations. Students will
be required to provide a Flash
Drive for their projects.

Media/Broadcasting Production
(Bronco TV)
This course will require students to make a
commitment of time, talent and energy. Students enrolled in this class
must be responsible, self motivated, task
oriented and has a strong desire to meet deadlines. Students will
produce slides and video for Bronco TV Cox Cable Channel 18. Possible
pre-recorder or live broadcast of “News Broadcast” for High
School site as well as City of Mustang
on Bronco TV. Students will help other classrooms with video assistance
as needs arise. Other projects will include high school staff
pictorial, Produce
Mustang Public
School district
teacher of the year videos, and entering a video media contest. This
class will require significant amount of out-of-class time for video
assignments and completion of projects by due date. Student will be required to provide
a Flash Drive
for their projects. Professional equipment and software will be
accessible for students.
