About Technology Education

 Class Overview  2007

The Technology Education classroom is designed with the students’ interests in mind. Technology Education is a resource for student development, career awareness, educational awareness, and cooperative learning. We will be exploring the different areas of technology, which include Power & Energy, Manufacturing, Construction, and Communication. We will be exploring the different career and educational avenues that all students will be faced with in the near future. The time spent in Tech. Ed. will be broken up into two parts: modular activities, and group activities. The modules are as follows:

Policies & Procedures

Students will rotate through the modules every 7 days. Each module has required work that students will receive a grade for. This work will be on a “check sheet”. If the student has all of the assignments completed on their check sheet they will receive 100pts. 100pts will also come from the test to be taken on the last day of the module. Students will receive a final 100pts from an essay to be written over their work on each module. There will also be opportunities for extra credit for each module. Periodically students will receive a participation grade. This grade is based on their work ethic during that class period. The only materials needed for this class is pencil/pen and paper, but students must have those materials every day! Failure to have the materials will result in loss of points along with possible other disciplinary actions.

Rules for this class are as they are in many other classes. We will be working with very expensive equipment, and at times, potentially dangerous equipment, so any misuse of any of the equipment in the room will not be tolerated. Any discipline problems will be handled according to the schools policies as stated in the student handbook, as well as notification of parents.
