Egyptian Project

Project Description: The students should make an Egyptian model of their choice.  Ideas include: mummies, coffins, sarcophagi, a desert scene, an Egyptian map, a scroll with hieroglyphics on it, pyramids, models of anything having to do with present day or ancient Egypt.  This project may be made using any medium (cardboard, paper, clay, styrofoam, Lego blocks, dolls, food, etc.)  Have fun with it!  Effort will be rewarded with bonus points, but the simplest models should receive a very good grade.  The primary focus of this project is paragraph writing, rather than artwork.  Students will explain how they made their models during an oral presentation.

Nothing needs to be written until students are in class on Mon.  We will write a simple outline of their presentation in class.  It will include a topic sentence, time order words, and a closing sentence for their oral explanatory paragraph.

Most models are due on Tuesday.

Early bird points will be given for projects turned in on Mon.

Models made of food cannot be refrigerated.  (Make sure that you keep

that in mind when making your choices.)
