My Educational Philosophy: In the classroom we work together recognizing that all students can learn. The students work independently as well as in teams of cooperative groups. The slogan "We won't let you fail" is used by all to support one another as we face new and exciting challenges. We practice respect for one another and incorporate strong character traits. I believe in creating an atmosphere where chances can be taken and ideas voiced without the fear of reprisal. I believe that learning can and should be "fun", therefore, I use various games and challenges in the curriculum. I work hard in preparing the student not only for 5th grade, but Middle School as well. We cover the required local and state P.A.S.S. objectives and sharpen test-taking skills. We will focus on developing a love for books thereby improving all reading skills. We work on math skills such as problem solving, multiplication, division, geometry and an introduction to fractions. The students will learn the properties of science through "hands on" activities as well as studying related vocabulary. Finally, we will study our great state of Oklahoma along with the regions of the United States, enabling the students to develop an understanding of the world around them.
