Welcome to Third Grade

Mrs. Hopper
My name is Gena "Renee" Hopper.  I am honored to be teaching your child this school year.  I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2004. This is my sixteenth year of teaching and my eighth year here in the  Mustang school district.  I have previously taught first, second, and third grades.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach here at Prairie VIew.  It is such a great school, and I work with an amazing third grade team and staff.
I am married and have three children.  My oldest two, Chris and Jennifer, have ventured out into the world to pursue careers and families of their own.  I have been blessed with two grandbabies, Raphael and Owen. My youngest son, Arron, is a senior in high school and he's busy in marching band this year.  He likes to point out that I am now the shortest in the family ~ unless you count our littlest boy, Charlee.  He is a Yorkie mix we adopted from Pets and People.
I am looking forward to working with your child.  We will have many opportunities to learn and grow throughout the year.  I thank you in advance for your help and support.  I truly believe that open communication between school and home is important in helping your child succeed.  Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns, family updates, changes of transportation, etc. and even funny stories you might hear about our day.
My contact information is listed below. My planning hour is from 7:50-8:45.  The best and quickest way to reach me is by email or ClassTag.  However, I am still available by phone or a note in your child's folder.  I will return your messages as quickly as possible.  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be your child's teacher.  I am looking forward to a great year!!!
