Grades

Homework and daily assignments will count for 40% of a student's grade.  Tests will count for 60% of a student's grade. The majority of the assignment will be completed during class time. Any problems not completed should be finished at home.

Grading Codes

Codes will be used in the grade book to help track student work.

0.1 = student did not have a paper and should have (they can turn in the paper late for partial credit)

0.2 = paper was turned in late

0.3 = student’s paper was incomplete

0.4 = student was asked to redo the paper

0.5 = student was absent and will receive full credit when the paper is turned in

Here are some examples:

75.12 means that the student did not have a paper then turned in for late grade and earned 75 points

on the assignment

70.32 means that paper was incomplete, student finished and earned more points to raise the grade

Grading Scale

A = 90% - 100%

B = 80% - 89%

C = 70% - 79%

D = 60% - 69%

F = 50% - 59%

Late Work

1st day late - up to 80%

Up to 1 week late - up to 70%

After two weeks - Zeros are entered.

                  *End of nine weeks will be last opportunity study hall to raise the zero up to a possible 70%.

Absent Work

If you are absent, you are responsible for getting your absent work. For every day you are absent, you get two days to complete the missed assignments. For instance, if you miss on Monday and return on Tuesday, all of your missed assignments will be due on Thursday. Also, it is your responsibility to arrange a time with me to make up any missed quizzes or tests during recess, before school, or after school.
