Sight Word List and Nonsense Word Lists

First Grade Sight Word list:
Your child by the end of the year needs have a score of 58 letter sounds for nonsense word fluency and be able to read 13 whole words for nonsense word Fluency. Below are the nonsense word fluency lists that you can practice at home in order to best prepare your child for this assessment.  Below are the directions in order for you to practice this skill at home.
Nonsense words Directions:

Your child is timed for one minute for this assessment. They can either sound out each letter or read the word as a whole. Our goal is for your child to read the word as a whole rather than to sound them out, but if they are not able to do that yet, please have them sound out the words. Time your child for one minute and mark any errors they have. Then use the following formula to see how your child did.

# of sounds correct-(minus) # of errors= number of correct letter sounds
