MPS Central Enrollment to open April 1
Mustang Public Schools will open full-time Central Enrollment on April 1 in the new Mustang Education Resource Center at 909 S. Mustang Road. This will make it possible for families new to the district to enroll all their children in one place year round. Address and custody changes, residency affidavits, out-of-district transfers and power of attorney will also be handled at the new site.
Central Enrollment will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday throughout the summer, excluding July 4. Hours may vary during peak enrollment times.
Superintendent Charles Bradley said having a full-time central enrollment center will relieve pressure on the school sites all year.
“Although Mustang has a net gain of approximately 200 to 500 students each year, there are more than 2,200 students brand new to the district who have gone through the enrollment process each year for the past three years,” he said. “For example, when the schools opened after the holiday break in January, 150 new students enrolled in two days.”
The new service would not be possible without the support of the voters and the February 2017 bond election.
“In years past, we opened an enrollment site for about eight weeks during the summer at one of our school sites,” Bradley said. “With the new Mustang Education Resource Center opening, we can offer this service year round. Family’s new to Mustang can come to one location to enroll all of their children at one time.”
Packets can be downloaded and filled out ahead of time. Only complete enrollment packets will be accepted. See a list of the requirements and download the appropriate packet at www.mustangps.org/enrollment.aspx.
