Mustang Schools named one of the Top Work Places in Oklahoma
Mustang Public Schools was named one of the Top Work Places of 2017 by the Oklahoman. Recipients of the honor were chosen based on survey results which measured company leadership, career opportunities, compensation, benefits and work environment. Although participation of 35 percent of the employees is required to be eligible, 56 percent of the support and certified staff of MPS responded to the survey.

Chad Fulton, Mustang Board of Education president, gave credit not only to Superintendent Sean McDaniel and administrative team’s role in creating a positive culture, but also to the staff.

“We are blessed to have the staff in the Mustang district that cares about educating the students,” he said.

Sean McDaniel, superintendent, was pleased with the results.

“There are so many factors that go into making a school a positive place to work. Although education is a tough profession - teachers and support staff are not paid enough and the hours invested are much more than most people realize - but positive responses to that survey show how much their jobs mean to them. Our teachers, support staff and administrators can go home every day and know their contribution to this world mattered.”

McDaniel was also quick to recognize the building principals and department managers.

“We have a team assembled that I wouldn’t trade,” he said. “They care about the people who work for them and they care about the kids. The positive culture in this district that makes it a wonderful place to work can either be quashed or encouraged by those in leadership roles, but it’s built day by day on the front lines by our teachers and support staff who love the kids.”
