Mustang Gifted & Talented Teacher Awarded $2500 Continental Resources Funding the Future Grant

(Mustang, Oklahoma – December 2, 2019) – Mustang GATE (Gifted & Talented) Teacher, Mrs. Teresa Dill, has been awarded a Funding the Future Grant for $2500 from Continental Resources for her schools: Lakehoma Elementary, Riverwood Elementary, & Prairie View Elementary.   

“The oil and gas industry is an integral part of our state, and education has long been a priority of our industry,” Chairman & CEO of Continental Resources, Harold Hamm said in the grant award letter.  “It is our priority at Continental to invest in education in the communities where we live and work. Our Funding the Future grants are meant to ensure that our children have the best opportunity to grow, learn and thrive. We focus specifically on STEM and reading, as we believe these skills will help build the workforce of the future.”  

 

“I am very excited to be awarded this grant for my GATE program,” Mrs. Dill said.  “I will be using the new Sphero BOLTs to teach basic programming, increase problem solving skills, logic, persistence, and collaboration to our fourth grade GATE students in the district. We will be applying numerous math skills as we navigate several challenges using the BOLT and bluetooth technology.”  Hamm continued in the letter to praise this project as “bound to make an immeasurable impact in educating Mustang students.”
