BroncoClub opens new summer camp program
Mustang Public Schools is offering a week-by-week summer camp for students who have completed pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Bronco Club Summer Camp is an extension of the new after-school program MPS opened for the 2016-2017 school year. Just like the school-year BroncoClub, certified teachers will run the summer program as well. The summer camp will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and held at Mustang Trails Elementary, 12025 SW 15th Street.
Every week has a theme and a field trip. BroncoClub Director Kris Green said parents need only to sign up for the weeks they need.
“If a family is planning a vacation for one week over the summer, they don’t have to sign up or pay for that week,” she said.
BroncoClub Summer Camp starts May 30 and ends Aug. 4. Typical five-day weeks are $150 for the first child and $130 for any siblings. The first week, May 30 through June 2, a four-day week, is $120 for the first camper. July 5-7, a three-day week, is $90 for the first camper. The same $20 discount for siblings apply.
“Every week will have a theme,” Green said. “The first week will introduce the kids to activities that involve science, technology engineering and math (STEM). Throughout the summer the campers will learn about horses, have a week of water games, learn about exotic animals and more. Each week will include a trip to the Mustang Aquatic Center and include either a guest speaker or a second field trip.”
