The Mustang Public Schools Foundation brought welcome news to seven of Mustang's 11 schools on Friday, Dec. 21. MPSF President Steve Wilson and past-president Mason Sommer, delivered 18 grants totaling nearly $15,000. It's the third time the foundation has awarded grants since its inception.
Forty-five grants were submitted for consideration. Names and identifying information are removed from the applications before the MPSF committee reviews the submissions. Sommer said it took the committee three hours to choose which grants to award.
The Foundation does not fund projects or requests normally funded by the school system. Instead, it enables teachers who have creative instruction ideas to implement the projects.
