No School Tomorrow, Monday, May 20, 2019

MPS Families,

District personnel have been in close contact with the National Weather Service, and after careful consideration, have decided to cancel school for Monday, May 20, 2019; this will include all afterschool and evening activities (including Bronco Club).  Weather models have been consistent in predicting significant severe weather for tomorrow, so this decision is being made in an abundance of caution. We apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding as safety is our utmost concern.  Site principals will be in touch regarding any rescheduling of activities, assemblies, etc.  We will keep you updated as needed through email, phone calls, text messages, social media and right here at http://www.mustangps.org.

Illness and Medication

ILLNESS
Attendance at school is very important, however, students cannot be expected to perform well if they are ill. Please keep students home if they are running a temperature. Students must be free of fever, vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours without the aid of medication before returning to school. If your child becomes ill during the school day, and/or has a temperature of 100 degrees or more, he/she will be sent home. Please make sure the office has current phone numbers for parents, guardians and all emergency contacts.

MEDICATION
It is the policy of the Mustang Board of Education that if a student is required to take medication during school hours, and the parent or guardian cannot be at the school to administer the medication, an administrator, school nurse or designated school employee may administer the medication when authorized in writing by the student's parent(s) or guardian(s) provided by law.
