Dear Mustang Elementary Families,


As we are quickly approaching the start of school, we know this year comes with great deal of uncertainty and questions. We are experiencing a time like never before.  We miss each and every one of our students and families. We are joyful to see new and familiar faces walking the hallways of Mustang Elementary. However, we know that for some of you, there is great apprehension in sending your child to school amidst a global pandemic. 


We want to take a moment and provide you with Mustang Elementary’s Health and Safety Plan (click here). This is not a plan we have taken lightly. We have thought long and hard about every possible way we could take measures to keep our students safe while at school and reduce the risk of exposure as much as possible. Our team feels that we have taken every possible measure to create a safe learning environment for your child. Mustang Elementary will not only be a place of safety but also a place of comfort for students, and a place where students will receive a quality outstanding education.


For some families though, we realize the risk may be too great. It may not be enough to adequately protect everyone in your family. We want you to know that we recognize the choice you are making isn’t an easy choice; it's a BRAVE choice. 


We applaud each and every one of our families for the decision you make regarding your child’s education. Our theme this year is “This is Where Your Adventure Begins”. No matter whether in person or virtual, your child will always be a member of the Mustang Elementary student body and your family will always be a part of our family. We are all in this adventure together! Because we are #StrongerTogether. We love and miss each and every one of you and look forward to seeing and hearing from all of you soon!

Residency Verification

All Mustang Public Schools students will need an updated Proof of Residency submitted on their behalf prior to the beginning of school. In years past this was completed in person at a scheduled Residency Verification day or Schedule pick up. Due to COVID-19 and CDC guidelines, we have developed an online submission form for you to utilize in completing Residency Verification for the 20-21 school year. You can complete this process from your computer or your smart device (smartphone, iPad, etc.)
  • Your student will not receive their schedule and/or homeroom teacher until you have completed the Residency Verification process.  
  • This submission form will be open from July 27th to July 31st.
  • Please complete this form only once per student. 
  • We are asking that parents whose primary residential address is used by the student to establish residency with Mustang Public Schools be the one to fill out the form.
  • Before you begin your submission, you will need to have electronic copies of your Proof of Residency and parent/guardian Photo ID. An electronic copy can be a picture or a scanned file created by a scanning app from your smartphone. You can take a picture of single page documents with the camera on your phone. Multi page documents will need to be scanned into a single file. Some suggested scanning apps are CamScanner, TurboScan and SimpleScan.
  • The Proof of Residency and Photo ID will need to be uploaded to this submission form from your computer or mobile device. 
  • Acceptable proofs include: gas, water, electric bills, warranty deed statement, ad-valorem tax statement, mortgage statement, rental agreements, or construction contract. (non-utility bills such as cable, phone and internet bills will not be accepted)
  • If you have more than one student at Mustang Elementary, you will need to submit a form for each student.

Mustang Families & Community,
 
We understand that some supplies (especially sanitizer and wipes) may be in limited supply, yet still included on many school supply lists.  We appreciate any donation of those "short supply" items to our schools, but they will not be required due to their limited availability.  As always, thank you so much for your generous support!

Bullying Information, Reporting Procedures, and MPS Board Policy

Bullying means any pattern of harassment, intimidation, threatening behavior, or physical act, directed toward a student or group of students that results in or is reasonably perceived as being done with the intent to cause negative educational or physical results for the targeted individual or group and is communicated in such a way as to disrupt or interfere with the school’s educational mission or the education of any student. 


Reporting

There are several ways to report bullying.  

  • A student may report bullying to a teacher, counselor, or school administrator

  • A student may anonymously report bullying by clicking on the link below for the anonymous online form, picking up a bullying reporting form from thier teacher or the Office, or by obtaining a form placed next to the anonymous bullying boxes in the Library or 4th grade hallway.
