What are we Learning?
School is cancelled until April 6th. The most important thing that you can do during this time is spend time together as a family,  practice social distancing, reassure your student that they are safe, and read, read, read! Simply reading a story and talking about it is the best thing you can do to help your student's progress during this time. This is a time of uncertainty and flexibility, and I will update you as soon I gain new information. I will be posting resources here as I gain knowledge of them, but there as some many people/companies sharing great resources right now that I don't think any human would be able to keep up with it all.  Please view these as supplements and resources as optional things that you can utilize during this time. I will not require any participation or proof that you have used them. They are just to help those that want to be working on skills or enrich their student's learning during this time.
Lunch: While school is closed for now, Mustang PS will be providing lunch and breakfast to our students from 11 am - 1 pm at the following sites each weekday: Trails Elem., Mustang North Middle School, Prairie View Elem., Valley Elem., Horizon Intermediate, Mustang Elem., and Central Middle School. Please stay in your cars and follow the signs posted at each location.
Skills we were working on right before break: 2D and 3D shapes, two- and three-digit addition and subtraction, main idea of a text, -er, -ir, and -ur words.

About Me
My name is Tammy Poolaw. It has been wonderful so far getting to know your student. I want to partner with you to make sure this year is the best year possible. My goal is to help your student grow and reach their highest potential. Our school year is going to be filled to the brim with learning, love, and laughter. My classroom should be a place where each student feels safe, cared for, heard, and challenged. I believe that students will rise or fall to meet the expectations set for them, so I hold my students to a high standard.

This year will be my third year in education, and my second year at Lakehoma. I taught one year of third grade in El Reno before making my way to Mustang. I have a bachelor's of science in Elementary Education and a master's of education in School Counseling from SWOSU in Weatherford, OK.

When I am not in my classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My husband, Joseph, and I have been married for 6 years and are expecting a little girl in November. I love to read, be outside, travel, and spend time with my Forward Church family. I also like comic books and sci-fi movies. If you think it's nerdy, I probably like it. :) I am originally from Mountain View, OK, which is a teeny-tiny town in western OK of about 800 people. I loved growing up in a small town, but now I wouldn't change where I'm at for the world. :)
