All About Mrs. Johnson

Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Mrs. Sherri Johnson, and I teach fourth grade here at Centennial Elementary. I am a former military family, as my husband is a retired Air Force pilot. We have been stationed at Vance AFB, Oklahoma, Maxwell AFB, Alabama, McGuire AFB, New Jersey, Keesler AFB, Mississippi, Scott AFB, Illinois, Peterson AFB, Colorado, and now we are finally back home in Oklahoma!. In my teaching career I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I received my elementary education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.  I am highly qualified in Reading, Social Studies, Gifted and Talented, and English.

My philosophy for teaching is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way.  One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it.  I believe in teaching through hands-on experiences, cooperative groups, technology, and humor!  Laughter is essential in my classroom!  I look forward to each day with excitement.  It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom.  I have high expectations for your child, and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations.  I am excited about getting to know your children and helping them recognize the gifts they bring to this world and help them build skills that will enable them to accomplish their goals and realize their dreams.

Being involved in your child's education is key to successful year.  One way to do this is by checking your child's backpack and agenda each day.  Read with your child each evening.  Together we can make a difference!
Finally, I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success.  Feel free to write me a note in the agenda each day, email me, or call 405-256-6466, and I will call you back.  I look forward to creating wonderful memories with your child that will last a lifetime!
