Due dates are upheld when attendance is not a factor. Missing for a school function requires the student to uphold to the original due date and acquire work BEFORE the school function.
S1 (semester one) - 25 points off for one week after the due date. After week 1 zone will be assigned for a max of 50%.
S2 (semester two) - 50 points off for one week after the due date. After week 1 zone will be assigned for a max of 50%.
*IMPORTANT NOTE - If graded papers have already been passed back to the students, then this late policy is null. The student must talk to the teacher about when they can come in to the classroom either before or after school within one week to complete for 50%. If the student does not set this up with the teacher, the assignment will be a zero in the gradebook.
This is primarily done on a student to student basis, the requirement is that the student must discuss a make-up or redo with the teacher.
Redo tests - any test may be redone as long as the student complies with this policy: the student must set up a time before or after school to redo. They have within 3 days after receiving the grade to make it up. NOT FOR ESSAYS.
Students, PLEASE have conversations with the teacher about work.
Work Expectations: All work is expected to be completed on time, best effort, and with an analytical mind. Focus in ELA will be short stories, novels, context clues, inference, sentence structure, and modes of writing.
