Dear Parents,

I would like to let you know that we are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. This global pandemic has placed us in a position that we have never been in before, and we appreciate your patience as we try and put a plan in place.

First of all, the health and well-being of your family is our top priority. We hope that you will be able to use some of our activities to continue your child’s education, but if there is some reason you are not able to participate in any of the activities your child will not be penalized in that nor will it change their grade.

Below I have listed some activities that we do during class that you will be able to do at home.

Go to current issues and click on simplified. These are age appropriate stories that are easy to read. They also have worksheets that can be done online or printed off. Look at the Joeys locker for fun games! Under this website you also have access to Unique learning. Go to the upper right-hand corner click on the three horizontal bars in the corner Go to Unique, then click on monthly lessons.

I believe that there are opportunities to learn in everything we do. Especially in functional skills. Please remember that activities like basic self-care (washing hands, brushing teeth, brushing hair, putting on deodorant) are very important. Folding clothes, wiping counters, general housework are important skills. Learning to tie your shoes, knowing your left from your right and knowing general information. (name, address, phone number, birthday, age) these are all thing that you can work on at home.

If you have any questions, please give me a call. I will be available Monday through Friday 8:30am till 4:00pm
