Welcome!

Welcome Central Students and Families! During our period of distance learning enrichment, please use this site as a reference page to find information to connect you to our learning hub which will be Google Classroom. We will be successful if we all work together and give each other grace through this unprecented time.

Google Classroom

In order to access ELA enrichment assignments for the duration of the school year students will need to join my distance learning Google Classroom.

Students:
1. Go to the Google Classroom homepage
2. Make sure you have logged in using your school account login information
3. Join the new classroom using the code: nbdswm6

More detailed instructions are available below.

Just Keep Reading!

I know finding reading material may be difficult right now with libraries closed, but there are several different ways you can continue to access reading material.

Are you seeking new reading material from the comfort of your home? Our media center has the SORA app available to you for free use at home. Follow the link to read more about how you can borrow and read digitally from home.

Audible is offering free listening for students as long as schools are closed. I personally have been a member of Audible since 2018 and use it for audiobooks daily. There is a lot of great content for young listeners available at this link. Audible can also be downloaded as an app on your personal device.

ReadnQuiz Reading Challenge

Are you looking for a way to least generate your interest in reading or stay accountable in reading? Let's start a reading challenge! I know well the appeal and distraction of Netflix and games, but I also know that these activities don't provide the reward and accomplishment of reading and learning. During this season of learning together at home, I challenge you to read. You may have some books in your home, or you may find a way to borrow books and read online. If this is you and you are up for the challenge, explore the site, ReadnQuiz. This is the program that we will utilize to keep ourselves accountable. This site is new to our school, but I'm excited about its features. After you finish a book, log-in with your username (last name OR last name and first initial) and password (student ID number). Search for the book that you completed, and take a 10 question quiz. You and I will be competing for points to see who can earn the most points from the books that we have read and completed at home before the end of the school year.
