I am very excited to begin this school year! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your 9thgrade ELA teacher. My name is Kristin Harper. I was raised in Mustang, am a Mustang High School graduate, married a Mustang High School graduate, and have raised my own family of three boys here in Mustang. After living on a farm on the South Canadian River for the past ten years, we just this summer moved out to a larger farm in Minco with more room for our cattle operation, chickens, and dogs. Also, after teaching at Mustang Middle School for twelve years, I decided to move to 9th grade. Lots of change this summer! Hopefully, I'll see past students in my classroom over the next few years.
Speaking of the classroom...along with teaching proper English habits, I also feel it is important to prepare each student to be independent thinkers and individuals. With this role, I expect each student to have respect for themselves and others as well as uphold the responsibilities expected from each student in 9th grade.
Parents, I appreciate and respect your role as a parent and hope to partner with you in your student’s education. I encourage and applaud your involvement in your child’s 9thgrade year. I keep a website that will have an updated link to the classroom calendar and newsworthy information about class. Google classroom will also be a great resource for all involved. You may check up on your child’s English grades at your convenience through Parent Portal. More information about Parent Portal can be found on the district's website, www.mustangps.org. Please contact me by phone or e-mail at any time. Due to my availability to use the phone being limited during school hours, e-mail is the quickest and most effective way to reach me. Please understand if I can not return a phone call until my planning time or until after school. I look forward to working with you this year.
