I have the privilege of being the Leadership and Communications Teacher here at Meadow Brook Intermediate.  I attended The University of Central Oklahoma where I received a degree in Marketing Communications with a minor in Finance.  Upon graduating I spent 12 years working in banking and finance prior to certifying to teach.  This will be my 7th year teaching in Mustang at the intermediate school level.  I sponsor the PALS (Peer Assistance Leadership Students) program and Academic Team here at Meadow Brook.  I have been married for 16 years to a Mustang Alum, and we reside in the Yukon area with our 13 year old son.  I am excited for the opportunity to work with each and every student here at Meadow Brook!

Distance Learning Resources

For the duration of school closure BrainPOP is offering free access for schools and families.  You can set up a family account by going to: www.brainpop.com.  BrainPOP offers videos with accompanying resources on many topics, from Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies, as well as, Art & Music and Engineering & Technology.  Under each grade level subject I teach are a list of BrainPOP topics students can explore during this time of distance learning.

5th Grade Leadership:
Our main objective in this class is to build character.  We are leaders by showing others how to do the right thing or "lead by example".  Using BrainPOP students can explore a number of individuals who have made a difference in some way.  After setting up a BrainPOP account in the search menu if you type in "biography" you will see 90 different individuals to choose from.  Any of them will give students a chance to learn about someone who made a different in our world for others.

6th Grade Communications:
One of our objective in this class is exploring the history of communication inventions.  There are several BrainPOP topics that explore past and present communication inventions.  After setting up a BrainPOP account use the search menu to look up one or more of the following topics:  Cell Phone, Telephone, Radio, Television, Internet, Email and IM, Traditional Animation, Digital Animation.  This will give students the opportunity to explore some inventions that have shaped the way we communicate.
