Empowering Today to Achieve a Better Tomorrow

Public Schools

Jene Thomas

Hello and welcome to the Eastern Hemisphere of Geography! We will have an exciting year exploring the cultures, landscapes and peoples of the Eastern Hemisphere!
I attended Southern Nazarene University for my bachelors in Social Studies Education. I have taught English and Careers and Leadership classes. Before becoming a public educator I served 20 years in the USAF as an Avionics Technician. In addition to working on the flighline while serving, I traveled and had the pleasure of teaching as an AF instructor.
I have twin daughters who are in their junior year of college and attending SNU. Currently I am working on my Masters in School Counseling. When we are not studying we love to travel and spend time with our two dogs.

Ms Thomas's Distance Learning Eastern Geography- Not all who wander are lost!

Not all who wander are lost!

Hey world geo trekkers!! Hope you are all safe and virtually exploring the world for the safety of your home! Here is a great link to Google Arts and Culture for museums and outdoor sights around the world!

I have missed all of my students and I am looking forward to the next adventures we will discover together with distance learning!

Even though we will be wandering virtually through our next area of the Eastern Hemisphere- Asia, it will be an adventure like no other!!! We will discover many more cultural practices, economic aspects, and wonders of the unique and beautiful parts of the world that includes the Asian countries! As we embark on this adventure, please take time each day to think about other families, like your own, across our planet that are facing the same struggles. We all have an opportunity to help our global community through understanding and accepting our differences and embracing our diversity. All of this being said, let’s getting ready to start our journey. Here is the schedule we will be following with updates every week:

Students will have postings on their Google Classroom for a list of weekly activities, beginning Monday, April 6, 2020. Students will be able to "Google Meet" with myself as well as classmates on Thursdays (links will be provided in students' Google Classroom) for questions regarding their Geography lessons. The times are as follows:

7th Grade Geography students: Thursdays 11:30 am –12:00 pm (afternoon)

PreAP students:  Thursdays 12:30 pm (afternoon)-1:00pm

Please know parents may reach out to me through my email: or through Google Voice at (405) 309-9242

and I will return emails and calls as soon as possible.

Whatever the need, please reach out!  We are here to serve.
