Distance Learning Plan

***Starting April 6th, Mustang will be implementing distance learning at the request of the Oklahoma State Department of Education. As of April 6th, all course material will be available through Google Classroom. If you would like help using Classroom, CLICK HERE  for a parent's guide to the website/app.***

Teachers, administrators, and curriculum coordinators have worked hard to develop meaningful learning plans for students according to subject area as part of a Distance Learning Plan (DLP). This will allow all of our students to continue learning while staying safe in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This DLP is not exclusively online. Printed packet options will be availabe to ensure all of our students have a chance to learn during this time. For more information provided by the district, visit the MPS Distance Learning Website, which includes links to more resources surrounding these events and will continue to be updated with more information—MPS Distance Learning Website

This document contains all the resources for enrichment of previously covered Biology standards and includes suggested pacing for those who would like a structured schedule during the next 5 weeks. More information will be posted on Google Classroom and Remind. Codes to join Classroom and Remind are to the right.

Evan Whitaker's Biology I Class

I am originally from Southern California and moved to Tulsa, OK about 15 years ago. I graduated from OU with a bachelor degree in Science Education specializing in Biology, although I began my college career studying Microbiology. I have a special interest in studying archaea and History of Science (because you cannot know where you are going if you do not know where you began!). I have done undergraduate research on foodborne pathogenic bacteria and the effects of BPA on aerobic microbiomes from abandoned landfills . My hobbies and interests include building and riding bicycles, reading science fiction and science non-fiction, and motorcycle camping whenever I can.
I look forward to learning and growing with you this year!

"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life." - Captain Jean Luc Picard

"It is the struggle itself that is most important. We must strive to be more than we are. It does not matter if we do not reach our ultimate goal. The effort itself yields its own reward. It is the difference between knowledge and experience."  - Lieutenant Commander Data
