My name is Ernesto Bello Jr and I am excited to be joining the staff at Mustang North Middle School this school year! I am joining this year as the new 8th grade Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra teacher. I am certified in Biological Science grades 5-12 and Advanced Mathematics grades 5-12. I will also be coaching the girl's golf team and the academic team this year.
I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I attended the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate studies where I earned both a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in Italian Language and Literature. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Oklahoma.
After graduating I entered the workforce at Fowler Toyota and worked as an ambassador for their Scion brand for two years and then worked at the Enterprise corporate office when I moved back to Tulsa in 2016 for one year. With my return to my hometown, my passion for criminal justice and social justice led me to join the Americorps Teach for America program in 2017. I completed two years of service with the program in Tulsa, Oklahoma working at a Tulsa Public Schools middle school.
I taught for two schools years in Tulsa, Oklahoma at East Central Jr High with Tulsa Public Schools during the 2017-2018 and the 2018-2019 academic years. While there I taught 8th grade science and served as the department lead for the science department. I was also one of the two co-coaches for the boys soccer team. My final role with Tulsa Public Schools was over the summer of 2019 during which I was a new teacher mentor/coach during summer school to two new incoming classroom teachers.
In my personal time I enjoy my hobbies which include running, weightlifting, cycling, rock climbing, hiking, longboarding, backpacking and camping. I also enjoy working on my photography and editing techniques in my spare time.
I hope this gives you some insight into who is in front of your students every day and I am excited for this school year and look forward to an excellent year of learning and growth!
