Hello, Mustang Riverwood students and families!  My name is Diane Johnson and I am the music teacher at Riverwood.  This is my 30th year of teaching music - and my 28th year in the Mustang school district.  I am very excited to be opening a new school and starting this new adventure!
A little bit about myself:  I was born and raised in Iowa - Go Hawkeyes!  My husband Greg and I have been married for 33 years and we have two amazing sons, Jordan (married to Katie) and Cameron, who are Mustang graduates.  But most importantly, I have the most adorable grandson named Ryan, who is 2 years old!
I love to travel and spend time at the beach, read, and golf.  Greg and I are the tour directors for  the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music, which takes high school band and choir students to Europe every other summer.
I look forward to a great year with all of the students at Riverwood and many performance opportunities.

Our 4th grade students at Riverwood have just begun their unit on recorders.  Please be very patient as we become amazing music readers!  Every 4th grade student is required to have their music and their recorder for every music class.  Please remind your student that they should put it back in their backpack every day for school.  I have given averyone a packet of music that they will need to practice and play tests for me.  Because it is several pages, I am only giving them ONE packet.  However, if they lose this packet, you can download and print another one HERE. Thanks for your support in helping to make your child a music reader.
