Brena Neely

Welcome to Ms. Neely's Class

Welcome, students and parents!
Although this year has not gone as planned, we are going to finish out this 4th Quarter with fidelity. The teachers at Central Middle School are still working hard to ensure high levels of learning for all. This website contains important resources that you can use to connect with our class during this quarter. Please review all the tips and support offered here. Even though times are tough, I am certain that we will overcome and continue to learn and grow as people.

Fun facts about me:
1. I love to read! I am currently reading "The Girl with the Louding Voice" by Abi Daré.
2. I have two dogs-- a corgi named Donut and a new puppy named Ahsoka. They keep me on my toes!
3. When I travel, I collect mugs! I am running out of places to keep them all!
4. I have one sister. She lives and works as a registered nurse in Altus, Oklahoma.
5. My favorite outdoor activity is hiking!

Extra Tools for Enrichment

The following websites are offering free services during this time to students with access to a school email:

Here is a website that lists many more!

Also, our Central Middle School Media Center has great resources for students and their reading. The SORA app is available to you for free use at home. Follow the link to read more about how you can borrow and read digitally.

ReadnQuiz Challenge

Are you looking for a way to at least generate your interest in reading or stay accountable in reading? Let's start a reading challenge! I know all too well the appeal and distraction of Netflix and games, but I also know that these activities don't provide the same benefits as reading. During this season of learning together at home, I challenge you to read. You may have some books in your home, or you may find a way to borrow books and read online. If this is you and you are up for the challenge, explore the site, ReadnQuiz. This is the program that we will utilize to keep ourselves accountable. This site is new to our school, but I'm excited about its features. After you finish a book, log-in with your username (last name OR last name and first initial) and password (student ID number). Search for the book that you completed, and take a 10 question quiz. (A good rule of thumb would be to search for the book before you read and then complete the quiz after you finish reading it!) You and I will be competing for points to see who can earn the most points from the books that we have read and completed at home before the end of the school year.
