Welcome

The 19-20 school is just beginning.
Here are a few things you might want to know about art class:
  • l  We get messy sometimes. We do wear aprons, but they don't always completely protect. In other words, don't have students wear their BEST on art days.
  •
  • l  We keep most of your students' work in their portfolio until the end of the year. This helps with grading, but is mostly for our fantastic display at our distirict art show and Creek's Fine Arts Night in the spring.
  •
  • l  Your students will receive a grade on their report card pertaining to art. I grade on a student's ability to follow directions, to use their time wisely, and to use materials correctly. If they try their personal best, they'll do fantastic.

Art Fundraiser News

Square 1 Art

Our Square 1 Art fundraiser is starting now!

Each student will receive a unique order form and a set of FREE stickers displaying their own artwork. You will be able to buy items with their work of art for gifts and keepsakes, just in time for Christmas.

All orders can be placed online (https://shop.square1art.com/shop) with your student's custom code found on the order form. You can also return the order form to the school with cash or check made out to Square 1 Art.

All orders are due by November 8th, and products will be delivered back to the school before Christmas break.

Please consider purchasing an item to help support our art program. This is our biggest source of funds for art materials.  Thank you!!
We do 3 main art fundraisers throughout the school year

1. Square 1 Art. This is a keepsake fundraiser that allows you to purchase items with your students art on them just in time for the holidays.

2. SMENCILS will be on sale during the 2nd semester! These smelly pencils are made from recycled newspaper, are a fun way to get inspired to draw, and are a great way to help with an art room's ever increasing financial need. Almost half of the money spent on Smencils comes back to our art department! $1=1 smelly pencil every TUESDAY & THURSDAY morning and whever your child comes to art starting in January.

3. Annual Fine Arts Night silent auctions. I have some fun projects in store for the students to create that will be auctioned off at our fine arts night at the end of April.
