Hi! My name is Baylee Harrison, and I am very excited to be your child's 5th grade ELA teacher! This is my third year of teaching. I taught 5th grade science at CRI last year, and fifth grade in OKC the year before. ELA is my passion!! I am so very excited to teach your child all about reading and writing!! I'm coming into ELA with fresh ideas, and I am so ready to work with you, your child, and my 5th grade team to ensure success for our 5th grader!
I am so excited to get to know your children personally. I have the desire to get to know you and your child and to build a great relationship with you all. Therefore, here are some things about me. I have no human children, but I do have a fur baby! Tris (named after a book!) is my cat, and she is my baby!! I love to read, kayak, and make quilts. I spend my evenings grading papers and watching Netflix. I love spending time with my family, especially with my parents and my sister.
My main goal for this year is to teach your child everything they need to know about 5th grade ELA. However, I also want to teach your students life skills that will help them be successful! This includes the practice of gratitude and changing their mindsets to believe in themselves! I want my students to be grateful for what they have, as well as to help those who are less fotunate. I believe there is a positive side to everything, and there is good in the world. I want to foster this in my students this year.
Please let me know how I can help this year, and let's make this one a great one!
