Mustang High School has been my home for the past fourteen years, with a short stint spent in East Texas, but I came back as soon as I could!
After receiving a BA in English Education from The University of Central Oklahoma, I was hired as a sixth grade Teacher at Roblyer Middle School in El Reno. While the school was a wonderful place to teach, I knew in my heart that I wanted to teach high school students. When I heard Mustang was hiring, and I already lived in the Mustang School District, I applied for a high school teaching position. Luckily for me, they hired me and placed me in an English II position. After teaching for a semester, I assigned a paper for my students to write about their goals in life. In turn, they asked me to tell them my goals in life. I knew that I wanted to be a principal at some point, but not that early in my career. However, my students challenged me to apply for a masters, so I did and started working toward my degree in the spring of 2006. After teaching for two years, I received a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. Since then, I have stayed in the classroom where I feel like I am educating and changing lives on a daily basis. I LOVE MY JOB!
A little bit about my family.....
I am married to my best friend, and we have four children all together. My step-daughter, Braily, is married and has recently made me a MiMi to a little girl, Harlow. My step-son, Stetson, is married and has a sweet little boy, Braxton. Our daughter, Riley, is currently a student at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) and seeking a degree in Speech Pathology. Our son, Casey, is a student at Mustang High School, anxiously awaiting to graduate so he can start the next chapter of his life. We have four dogs, Buzz, Toby, Mac, and our newest puppy, Tess. We enjoy doing family things, being outdoors, going to the lake, and having Harry Potter movie marathons every Christmas.
