Hello parents and students!  I hope this finds you well and that you have been keeping busy (at a safe distance! ha!).  Over the next few weeks we will be working together to finish up the school year. I will be in contact with students weekly through several different formats. As you work through the district’s plan for distance learning, feel free to contact me with questions or just to tell me something great that is happening in your world!  I miss my students and their families like crazy!

Please know that my word for this time in our lives is “grace”. I am working on having grace for my family as we are cooped up together, especially on rainy days with a 5 and 3 year old! Grace for myself as I am adjusting to a new way of life, parenting, and teaching. Grace for the continuing changes and challenges we are experiencing as a world. I will also have so much grace for my students and their parents!  I know your family is going through a tremendous amount of change, stress, and uncertainty right now. Please know that if there is something we are asking you to do with school that is just not possible or you are too overwhelmed with what life has thrown at you, I am here for you! We are in this together! Please contact me, one of the principals, or the 5th grade counselor Ms. Hinkle with any questions or concerns you have as we navigate these new experiences.

Below is a list of ways that I will be communicating with my students in the coming weeks:

Google Meet: I will send out times and invites when these video chats are happening so that I can see my students and we can have class discussions.  I will get you more information about this as I figure it out on my end! Ha!

Google Classroom: I have 2 different Google Classrooms right now for different purposes.  All students already have access to the Block 3 classroom where I have posted their tests and quizzes throughout the year.  This is where I will post information about the district’s distance learning plan and additional resources that can be helpful (video links, websites, etc.). If your family cannot access Google Classroom, let me know and I can get you the information another way.

The other classroom I have going right now is for additional resources that are not related to the district plan (fun challenges, websites, activities).  This second classroom is not required, but if your child would like to join, the access code is axrgwkc.  Students will need to be signed into their school account on Google ( and use their school computer password to join the class.

Email: Students and parents can always email me at with any questions, say hello, or just to tell me something!

Remind: I set up a new Remind text message account for my homeroom class (that’s you!) so I can communicate with parents easily when I send out information through email, Google Classroom, or set up a video chat.  Please sign up for this so that you have timely information. To sign up, follow the direction on the right of the screen.

Office hours: I will be available to answer questions, emails, and chat 9am - 3pm Monday-Friday.  I will do my best to respond to any questions in a timely manner between these times, but as I said earlier… grace! :)  Also, if you have something pressing outside of these hours, of course I’m available!

Ok!  I think that’s it for now!  I promise any following emails will not be this long!  I look forward to seeing my kiddos’ faces very soon and hearing all about their at-home adventures!

If you receive this email, will you please send a quick response back so I know it is reaching you!

About Mrs. Tuttle

Welcome to Canyon Ridge!  This is truly a special school for students and teachers alike!  I hope your experience at CRI is wonderful!
Let me tell you a little about myself.  This is my 15th year teaching.  I'm originally from Billings, MT. I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University and began my career in Edmond teaching 2nd grade.  After 3 years I moved up to 5th grade and fell in love with it and have been teaching 5th ever since!  The kids are so incredible at this age and all the content they have to learn is amazing.  When my husband and I moved to Yukon, I got a job at Creek Elementary and then moved over to CRI when it opened up.
I've been married to my husband, Lucas, for 13 years.  We have 2 incredible daughters, Brady and Finley, who are our whole world (much to the dismay of our first baby, Asher, our 12 year old Weimaraner)! Brady is 4 1/2 and Finley will be turning 3 in October. :)

How to be a Math Person

Math Person
If you've ever figured out how much a shirt cost from the 30% off rack, you are a math person.

If you've ever estimated how much water you drank in a day, you are a math person.

If you've ever made any sort of budget of any kind, you are a math person.

If you've ever calculated exactly what time you'd need to get out of bed to still get to work on time, you are a math person.

We are all math people!
